Hi, I'm Prem.
(Sorry this is long, but having hearing loss for 10 years, this means a lot to me).
I've had hearing loss since 2016, and hearing aids since 2017 when I was diagnosed with progressive bilateral hearing loss in my early twenties. I didn't know a single person with hearing loss at the time. Not one person with hearing aids, no idea where this was going. I felt really alone and scared.
Since then, I've sat across from more audiologists and ENTs than I can count, taken hundreds of hearing tests, and spent two years as a participant in a hearing research study with the NIH.
Honestly, I felt weighed down with the options, explanations, and fake promises. I became frustrated as I live in New York City, a place that never quiets down, and I never wanted it to either. I worked demanding jobs, kept up a social life, said “yes” to concerts, dinners, and other events. The things I love to do.
I wasn’t willing to give any of it up, and I don’t think anyone should have to.
But trying to do it all taught me something: taking care of my ears couldn't be an afterthought anymore. It had to become part of how I take care of myself, the same way I think about sleep, exercise, or what I eat. I became the person who reads the research, asks doctors all the follow-up questions imaginable, and treats ear care like a daily habit.
Sounds Good is the habit made real. Working alongside doctors and researchers, I built the routine I wanted for myself: the Daily, to support everyday ear health, and the Go Pack, to bring along for loud events. Simple habits to support your ears, built for the life I didn’t want to give up.
More than anything, I built this to bring awareness to the hearing loss community. We deserve more and I hope this starts a larger shift of support.
Glad you're here. Happy listening.

Building community
Before there was a product there was a group of people comparing notes about their ears and journeys. Sharing frustrations but more important hope. That still exists and will continue to.
